My Solutions: Liquid MSM, Glucosamine and Ipriflavone.

What helped me, may or may not help you. So I continue to research the latest and greatest and share it with my readers. All I can tell you is that I've found this beneficial for me as well as many of my friends and family.

This is a 3-pronged approach:

1. Stretching.

2. Exercise.

3. Glucosamine/MSM/Ipriflavone.

I'll explain each one briefly.

ONE: STRETCHING. All my youth I was a martial artist, so I was very flexible and could do the splits on demand.

But as I got older I stopped stretching and got very tight.

Ironically, it wasn't until I was diagnosed with arthritis that I started stretching again!

Though it was a little painful at first, it helped to remove the stiffness in the joint. This did 2 things:

  • It reduced the pain.
  • It helped me exercise (see point 2 below).

When I speak of stretching, I don't mean doing the splits! Just nice and easy, slow and gentle. Even now I don't do extreme stretching because a little stretching brings big relief.

TWO: EXERCISE. I don't do heavy squats and I don't run marathons. But I do take a brisk walk for an hour first thing very morning.

When I first started doing this it hurt too much and I couldn't do it. But then I read about the benefits of stretching for people with arthritis.

Stretching is #1 because until I did the stretching, I was too stiff and in too much pain to walk any distance.

But stretching alone wasn't enough. I needed to also strengthen the muscles around the joint to provide more support for it.

I started with a 15 minute walk every day, and experienced tremendous results with that. Then I gradually just found myself wanting to walk longer and longer distances ... until I was joyfully walking for an entire hour!

Funny, but the last thing you want to do when you have arthritis is stretch and walk. I was afraid that it would make the condition worse. But it was my M.D. who told me that I should do these 2 things ... and he was right on.

Of course you should consult with your medical doctor before beginning an exercise or stretching program to make sure it is appropriate for you.

THREE: LIQUID GLUCOSAMINE/MSM/IPRIFLAVONE.

We've all read about the benefits of Glucosamine. It was made famous in the best-selling book, "The Arthritis Cure."

Glucosamine is well known as a substance that provides the natural building blocks to grow, repair and maintain cartilage.

Glucosamine and chondroitin help cartilage absorb water and thereby keep the joints lubricated.

Jason Theodosakis, MD, author of "The Arthritis Cure" and who served on the oversight committee for the National Institutes of Health trial on glucosamine and chondroitin says:

"There is also enough scientific evidence -- 42 human clinical trials to date -- to recommend the use of glucosamine and chondroitin."

Glucosamine did NOT work for me right away. But I later found a formula I liked. Here's how:

I went to my local drug store and bought some glucosamine/chondroitin pills. It was a major brand with doctors' recommendations on the label. But for whatever reason I didn't feel any better.

I was very surprised since I had read so much about the benefits of glucosamine and MSM.

After doing some research here's what I decided to use:

1st: LIQUID glucosamine with MSM and ipriflavone. I can't emphasize this enough: It has both MSM and ipriflavone in the liquid form (read labels carefully - most don't have ipriflavone), but I've read that it's important for promoting bone mass.

2nd: 1500 mg of glucosamine per day in liquid form to get started.

    * 1500 mg of glucosamine, 1500 mg of MSM and 300 mg of ipriflavone per daily serving. Some labels don't break down the potencies of the individual ingredients and only give the potentency of their "blend" or "complex." Be very careful of this!

3rd: The company uses "Sequential Mixing." This refers to the sequence in which the ingredients are added to the formula and it plays a role in the quality of the finished product.

4th: The manufacturer uses FDA approved compounds in proper ratios for liquids.

5th: The company sends out every batch for testing at a THIRD PARTY LAB. There are MANY reports of even name-brand company's products not having the potencies listed on the label, as well as having toxins such as lead.

6th: The product has "supporting ingredients." Many consumers simply look for the major ingredients of glucosamine and MSM. Companies know this and so save money by leaving out other "minor" ingredients that are very important for improving the effectiveness of the primary ingredients. Look for:

    • Zinc
    • Vitamin C
    • K-1*

7th: Give it a little time. It's a nutrition product, not a drug and therefore works at the cellular regeneration level.

I'm sure there are many good arthritis nutrition products available. I tried several, but only found one helpful. The combination of glucosamine, MSM and iproflavone in LIQUID form is what I liked the best.

If you're interested in the product that I now personally use, it's the one from Life Force International. It meets all the qualifications listed above.

After trying other products, I decided that this is the best for me. And many others have agreed with me.

"I have found a distinct difference with the liquid form of this particular medication**. I was on vacation and did not bring enough with me and was without the supplement for 2 days.

Once started again, there was a noticeable difference. I believe the tablet form of this medication** is either not resorbed well, or even at all. I had been utilizing tablets for several years, but with minimal results.

... I want to order another 12 bottles to tide me over the winter ...Thank you,"

    R. LaVey, MD

**[please note this is a nutritional product, not a medication]

When you get to the Life Force International site, click on the "PRODUCTS" tab at the top.

Then click on the flag of your country.

If the order form asks for an ID# of the person who referred you, type in 9244301. That's the number for Bill and Barb Holmes. I recommend them because they provide absolutely excellent customer service.

The product I use is FLEXEO-PLUS.* It's only available in the USA. If you live outside of the US, you can get OsteoProCare, also available from Life Force International

The KEY is to take 6 dropper-fulls in the morning and another 6 dropper-fulls in the afternoon or evening. To do this you'll need 2 bottles/month to get started. You'll find that it is very much worth it!

One caveat however. It is not the best tasting product! The company has marketed to doctors and health professionals for many years and therefore refuses to add any sugars or artificial flavorings.

I resolved this problem by simply mixing it with my favorite juice.

One other thing from the label of the bottle: "... any individuals who are on blood thinner medication or who are allergic to shellfish should consult with their healthcare professional prior to using this product."

I'm passionate about helping others in the same situation because I know first-hand how debilitating the pain can be.

So if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at barry@alternative-arthritis-remedies.com

Or you can click this link to order FlexeoPlus right now if you're ready. Just click on the "PRODUCTS" tab after you get to the web site.

"I had already learned to stretch and exercise for my hip arthritis but that wasn't enough after I was diagnosed with arthritis & pressured to have hip replacement surgery. I am only 52 years old & had just run a Marathon & snow skied for 6 consecutive days when I was diagnosed w/ severe arthristis of the right hip (bone on bone). My right leg was stiff as a board & I was walking with a limp; however, I did not have much pain just stiffness.

... Then, I saw your website about liquid glusonamine/chronditin/MSM.

... I had tried 2-3 other glusonamine/chronditin/MSM products & I never felt any benefit after 3-4 months of the product at 1500 mg dosage.

... Any way - I am excited that I feel so good with the liquid product. I can't wait to see how I will feel after Month 2 & 3 (when you said you would get most benefit).

    Continue to share your tips!"
